SAN JUAN was founded on June 13, 1562.

In the north-western of Argentina, at 650 m above mean sea level with a population of 112,000 approx.

In 1944 a massive earthquake destroyed the city center.

Catedral de San Juan

Valley of the Moon or Ischigualasto Provincial Park ( Plsanjuanace where the Moon alights in Quechua language). 300 kilometers away from San Juan Capital City, Valle de La Luna Provincial Park is a clay formation with a great variety of colors and shapes, slopes with many layers of minerals and sediments that let you clearly see the evolution of Earth. It ossupies 60,369 hectares. You will find formations such as “El gusano”, La Esfinge”, “El Submarino”, “El Hongo”, and the fallen “Lámpara de Aladino”.

Vissiting “Valle Pintado”, “Paisaje luna” and “La Cancha de Bochas”, the last being spheres perfectly polished on the same material of the ground which are settled on a very flat surface.Triassic Period of geological history (c.250-200 million years before present).

Opened from april to september from 8 till 16 and fromOctober to March from 8 till 17hs

UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 29th of November of 2000.
